Tri Santa Cruz – August 11, 2019
This is one of the best races on the central coast – fun, scenic, and the bike ride is on a totally closed course – in it’s 13th year in 2019. . There’s something for everyone at Tri Santa Cruz – and International (Olympic) distance triathlon and Aquabike, Sprint distance triathlon and aquabike, Clydesdale and Athena categories and relay teams for both distances. Plus, an Aquathlon with either a sprint (750 m swim/5k run) or Olympic (1500m swim/10k run) distance.
In 2018 we added two Duathlon distances to the, both with an initial 5K Run, followed by either the sprint or Olympic distance bike ride, and wrapping up with another 5K Run.
Do you want to race in the same wave as your sister, son, daughter, cousin, boyfriend/girlfriend, spouse or friend without having to start in a competitive age group wave? If so then the Family and Friends wave is for you. It’s the sprint race with it’s own wave start. You’ll get all the same race goodies but you won’t be eligible for age group prizes.
You can’t have much more fun on a summer morning than this. You have to check it out and it’s a great event for first time triathletes to launch their race career!
Check our our page on Open Water Swim Clinics to help you prepare for the race.
USA Triathlon Kid’s Splash & Dash Events
We’re starting off early this year with a couple of kid’s events that are in USA Triathlon’s national series for Splash & Dash Aquathlons. There are two events: March 10 and May 25. Both are open to the following age groups: 5-6, 7-10, and 11-15 with different course distances for each. You can sign up for one or both.

Summer Splash & Dash and Pool Party in the Redwoods – June 29, 2019

Dip & Dash Swim-Run and Team Challenge – June 30
We’re taking a different direction with the Dip & Dash races this year – only one standalone swim-run event with individual and team challenge components.
There are three individual distances for the event and a team challenge category for teams of 3. The three individual distances are: 350m swim and 1.25 mile run, 750m swim and 4 mile run, or 1500m swim and 4 mile run.
The team challenge will be structured similar to a triathlon mixed team relay: teams of three where each member will complete a swim and run before tagging off to the next team member. Its a very fast paced and fun event to do and to watch. There will be two categories of mixed team relay (Male-Female-Male or Female-Male-Female) and a single gender category (all male or all female). The team with the lowest overall time is the winner. You can capture the same feeling Team USA had when it won the mixed team relay at ITU Worlds!
Open to all ages 10 and up.
SuperKid Triathlon – September 15, 2019
SuperKid has always been about building strong bodies and healthy kids. This means getting them off the couch, away from the TV, phones, video games, and outside for some healthy physical activity. It doesn’t matter if your child is already an athlete or is just starting to engage in sports and outdoor activity. This is a great event for the whole family and gives your children the opportunity to be active and healthy. With a swim, bike and run course, real transition area, body markings and fun prizes for participants, you can help your child gain the self esteem that comes from doing their personal best. Not to mention a cool finisher medal and matching shirt.
THE BIKE COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR FAT TIRE, MOUNTAIN BIKES, AND CYCLECROSS BIKES. No road bikes or skinny tires!
Once final results are posted you’ll be able to download an official finisher certificate with event info, age group, total time and place to remember the event.
