This is the 12th Annual SuperKid Race. How cool is that?
The first SuperKid Triathlon was held in 1997 had 156 participants. It was founded on the principle of Fun First, Food Second, Competition Third. That's a tradition that is continued today. You can check out some of the history of SuperKid on the original site: SKTri.com.

SuperKid Triathlon - October 12, 2008
Welcome to the new home for SuperKid.
Registration is now open for the 2008 SuperKid Triathlon.
This is a great event for the whole family and gives your children the opportunity to be triathletes. With a swim, bike and run course, real transition area, body markings and awards for all participants, you can help your child gain the self esteem that comes from doing their personal best.

Kids will swim in the Simpkins pool, bike and through the adjacent park on dirt roads and trails. Each child must wear an ANSI approved helmet on the bike. THE BIKE COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR FAT TIRE, MOUNTAIN BIKES, AND CYCLECROSS BIKES. No road bikes or skinny tires!
All kids who participate will receive a finisher's medal and each individual will be called to the stage to receive their medal. Kids will receive a t-shirt, swim cap, free raffle ticket, water bottle and other special sponsor gifts.
Entry Fee:
By August 31 - $30 (plus $5 USAT Annual Membership/Insurance Fee)
After September 1 - $35 (plus $5 USAT Annual Membership/Insurance Fee)
New for this year:
Family Registration Category $100
If you have more than two kids to register for SuperKid you can save by using the Family Registration category on either Active.com or by mailing in your registration. You need to complete the entry information for each child separately, and sign each waiver on Active.com. You will only be charged once, for the first child you register. DO NOT USE THE FAMILY REGISTRATION UNLESS YOU ARE REGISTERING THREE OR MORE CHILDREN OR YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED. You will be charged separately for the USAT annual fee when you pick up your race packets.
Registration Limit in 2008 to 500 kids!
Last year we set a registration limit of 450 kids and had 472 register. So this year we've increased the registration limit to 500 kids. Be sure to sign your kids up early to guarantee a spot.
Chip Timing for Ages 7 - 14
This year we will be providing ankle chip timing for all athletes ages 7 through 14. Due to the nature of the course we won't be able to provide split times for each segment but we will be able to capture start and finish times for each racer. We'll provide instructions on how to use the timing chips. It will be fun for both the athletes and the spectators to hear all the beeping as kids cross the finish line.
For racers 6 and under we will provide finishing places in each age and gender group but no finish line times. All results will still be sent to USAT but the 6 and under ages will not be included in the rankings for time.
Course Changes
We are looking at some course changes and some mandatory dismount areas on certain parts of the course. The maps posted at the left are the most up-to-date. We'll post any changes as the occur and notify you of changes by email.
This is a USAT Sanctioned event. You must either register with your USAT number or pay a $5 USAT membership fee for each child. If your child has a current USAT card you will need to present it to pick up your race packet. If you can't find it, you can print a temporary card on the USAT website.

Packet Pickup - Saturday, October 10th
You will be able to pick up your race packet on Saturday 11th at Simpkins Family Swim Center between 1:00pm until 4:00 pm. It is highly recommended that you try and pick up your packet early to avoid the race day rush.

REFUND POLICY: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR THIS EVENT. EVENT CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED ACCORDING TO THE GUIDELINES LISTED BELOW IF NOTIFIED PRIOR TO THE EVENT. THERE WILL BE NO EVENT CREDITS ISSUED AFTER THE EVENT.
EVENT CREDIT: IF YOU WISH TO WITHDRAW FROM THE EVENT, AN EVENT CREDIT TO ANOTHER FINISH LINE PRODUCTIONS EVENT OF 50% OF THE ENTRY FEE CHARGES WILL BE ISSUED IF NOTIFIED IN WRITING (EMAIL TO info@finishlineproduction.com OR BY FAX AT 831-338-2117) FOR: 1. ANY REASON, AND IF RECEIVED MORE THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE EVENT WEEKEND (OPENING OF REGISTRATION). 2. IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL REASON AND YOU ALSO SEND A LETTER FROM YOUR DOCTOR ADVISING US THAT YOU CAN NOT COMPETE WE MUST RECEIVE WRITTEN NOTICE MORE THAN 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION FOR EVENT CREDIT: IF YOU HAVE AN INJURY OR IF A MEMBER OF YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY HAS A DEATH OR MEDICAL EMERGENCY WITH LESS THAN 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE EVENT YOU WILL NEED TO NOTIFY US IN WRITING AT LEAST 72 HOURS BEFORE THE START OF THE EVENT, AND THE RACE DIRECTOR WILL CONSIDER THE REQUEST ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS FOR A CREDIT.
NO CREDITS WILL BE ISSUED WITH LESS THAN 72 HOURS PRIOR NOTICE IN WRITING.
ENTRY FEES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE TO ANOTHER PERSON (USAT CONSIDERS THIS FRAUD). IF YOU SELL OR GIVE YOUR RACE SLOT AWAY, BOTH YOU AND THE PERSON USING YOUR RACE SLOT ARE SUBJECT TO A TWO-YEAR SUSPENSION FROM RACING AT ANY USAT RACE. AN UNAUTHORIZED RACER JEOPARDIZES OUR LIABILITY INSURANCE AND CAN CHANGE THE PLACEMENT STATUS OF OTHER RACERS WHO HAVE WORKED HARD TO FINISH THE RACE.
